How To Submit A Dance Event

Events I Will Post

I am picky about the dances I will post, because my time is precious.

Local Mainstream and Plus dances are easy to find on the internet and via local print magazines. I am generally not interested in posting those, unless they are located in the San Francisco Bay area where this web site is based.

In order to promote the learning of square dancing, I would like to post beginner-level dances anywhere.

I would also like to post any Advanced or Challenge level dances anywhere, and Round dances.

This database does not include clogging, contra, line dancing, or country western dances.

If your event is already in the database, all I need are corrections to your entry, in the form of revised fliers or revised URLs. Please check that your event is already in the database before sending me anything new.

The Information I Need

  • The date your event will take place.
  • The levels to be danced at your event, including rounds.
  • The location for your dance, including the name of the building, the address, the city, and the zip code. I used this information to put your dance on the map.
  • Your event caller or cuer.
  • A contact person or persons, including a phone number and an email address. I will use your name and email address unless you indicate otherwise.
  • If your event already has a web page or flier posted, please send the URL. I would prefer to link to it instead of posting a flier. If you must send a flier, please send a Microsoft Word file, or an RTF format file, or a PDF file, or a JPG file. Please do not send any file larger than 100 KB in size; I will not post it, and I will also likely add your email address to my "spam" database.
