Stretched Box Concept
Centers start once-removed but work with the other outsides to end on their side of the square.
From waves or lines, equivalent to centers slither and then all do the call normally; it is sometimes danced that way, but flow considerations usually make it awkward. From columns, equivalent to center box
Stretched Setup
Those in the center will move to work with the opposite ends, and finish with those ends.
From a 2x4 matrix, this means that the center box of 4 will substitute or slither then do the call.
From a 1x8 matrix, this means the center 4 dancers will once-removed substitute or slide then do the call.
From some matrices, only 2 center dancers can move to the other side. Example: stretched diamonds.
Stretched Wave/Line
From tidal setup, each pair of centers move down to work with far end pair.
Swap The Wave
Dancers with right shoulder to center of wave trade (with each other) and step forward, others step forward, adjust to 2x2.
