A Z-box is a box of four which is sheared along one axis such that two dancers are offset by one position. The shear may be either lateral or vertical.
Hints: Usually called simply a Z. The formation is always a box, never a line or column. Zs are analogous to parallelograms, but involve only four people rather than eight, and are offset by only one rather than two.
