Ever want to do more with your cell phone than just use it to make calls or send texts? How about take it apart and put it back together, use it to remotely control a robot, or test the app that you created that generates different outfits based on your current wardrobe? Interested in joining Robotics, Rocketry, Engineering and other technology-oriented clubs at your school but afraid to because you would be the only girl in the club? Are you that one and only girl who joined a technology-oriented club, but you get discouraged because you get tired of showing the guys that their calculations are wrong, because they won't listen to you? Well, you are not alone! There are girls just like you in Girl Power, a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) program specifically for you!

Why Join Girl Power?

Girl Power can help you explore science and technology in a fun and rewarding way. You get hands-on experience and confidence, and a chance to make friends with similar interests. In addition to our weekly meetings, we have a yearly science fair and engineering competition, summer programs, and many other events that will help you gain valuable knowledge and skills. Best of all, you get paired up with a successful professional woman who was one day just like you — someone who loved designing, building, and experimenting for fun but now gets paid to to do it and still has fun. Empower yourself to find a rewarding future!

Below you will find everything you need to get involved, including enrolling, viewing student guidelines, and participating in events and activies. Please feel free to explore this site and share the information with your fellow chapter members and friends who may be interested.

Testimonials

I have always been enthusiastic about science and technology. From a young age, I became involved in various organizations created to advance the education of children like myself. Girl Power has given me various opportunities to develop a thirst for knowledge and a love for science and technology. As a member of this community group, I was able to participate in events that taught me more about how computers work and how engineers make satellites. I also visited NASA. Girl Power has given me a lot of experiences that were valuable to me.

This summer, because of Girl Power, I completed an internship working at Oracle. I feel confident that I will be able to go into a lot of fields with the skills that I’m acquiring through Girl Power events, and perform beyond expectations. I know that I have broken away from being a statistic, and I hope to encourage other students like me to improve their futures.
